Monday Bakery, Napa

This is going to be one of those 5 Heart posts where I could kick myself for not taking pics!! You’ll just have to believe me when I tell you the Pear Rosemary Tarte was the best pastry I have ever had. And the Kouign Amann was the best KA I have ever had.

I sat outside the Monday Bakery on a gorgeous Napa winter day with sun shining and chatting with a local. My intent was to have a bite or two of my giant tarte. Well one bite or two turned into demolishing the entire pastry. It was so good that when I returned, I was tempted to get it again. They don’t have the pear tarte everyday, which is one of the many things I loved about this bakery. Daily selection changes and when they sell out, that’s it. You can special order anything though. Here are some other things I loved.

There’s a line. Yes, I love lines. Especially at bakeries because it typically means they’re that good. The people working at Monday are all very friendly, extremely customer-oriented, and proud of their product. This is a woman-owned business. You can read about her on their website. They’re open on Mondays which is not typical for bakeries.

I did not get a chance to try Monday’s extensive savory café menu but many in line both days I visited did. Oh and by the way, good luck deciding what to get. They have a huge selection. Someone in line told me what to get. So I did.

If you get to visit Napa, you won’t want to miss this great bakery and café. Check out their story here:
