It’s not often I find something I find purely entertaining on TV. I don’t have cable or regular TV so I only binge watch programs on Netflix, Hulu, and PBS. Until Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee was released just recently on Netflix I didn’t even know it existed. It is so good! 
One of the things I like about it is that I either actually know of the comedians on this show or I know of the work they have done. It’s nice to see some of the comic geniuses from behind the scenes, sometimes in the form of a writer, featured on this great series.
Here are the top 10 things I love about this series:
- Jerry Seinfeld not only displays great behaviors/etiquette when interacting with servers at the coffee shops and restaurants he visits but he will go as far as to educate his guests on the proper way to speak to and tip the wait staff. I absolutely love this! I don’t like to mention anything negative here at 5 Heart Rating but I will say there is one particular comedian that did not surprise me one bit when they calculated the tip. Jerry quickly intercepted the bill and proceeded to lecture them on their tipping behavior. I think it may have actually gone over their head, unfortunately. Jerry also scolded one of his guests for the way he tried to get the attention of the server. I think this is great!!
- I learned a lot about Jerry Seinfeld.
- The cars are varied (although it seems Seinfeld has an affinity for vintage Porsche and Mercedes) and unique.
- I learned about cars.
- I got to see cars from bygone eras, a simpler time.
- Seinfeld’s guests are all over the country so we get to see coffee shops in some pretty unique places which also allows us to see parts of this beautiful country from the road.
- The banter between Jerry Seinfeld and his guest comedians is hilarious, natural, and educational.
- Seinfeld is a comic genius.
- Seinfeld is a genius. Period.
- People like and respect Jerry Seinfeld. A lot.
